Telenor Sweden and the municipalities of Skåne have agreed on an extended and strengthened collaboration in telephony services. Over the next six years, with an extension, Telenor will deliver mobile subscriptions, fixed-line services and switchboard solutions to more than 100 organisations, including all 33 municipalities and most municipal companies in Skåne.
"It is excellent that we can continue to simplify and improve accessibility for employees across all municipalities in Skåne. It is also positive that residents will continue to benefit from straightforward and accessible public services. This comes at a time when we are in the midst of the largest network modernisation in our history, meaning our mobile services are becoming more modern, secure and robust, and that we can offer 5G‑based IoT services", says Jessica Levin, Sales Director at Telenor.
Telenor’s delivery includes approximately 125 000 mobile subscriptions. The agreement covers fixed telephony, mobile broadband, cloud‑based switchboard services with mobile solutions, as well as IoT services for connected devices such as measurement, alarms, control and monitoring applications.
Skånes Kommuner is a member organisation representing the 33 municipalities in Skåne, with the objective of creating added value for its members and promoting strategic cooperation between municipalities. The organisation conducts, among other things, coordinated procurements that contribute to cost efficiency and quality assurance.
Through this procurement, the municipalities of Skåne ensure that all municipalities, regardless of size, receive the same development opportunities and economic benefits. The procurement of telephony services has also helped provide a better‑adapted range of services and functions for all 33 municipalities and around one hundred municipal companies.
"We are now entering a new contract period where the core delivery, contact points and routines are already established, allowing us to focus on security, functionality and development for all our members, both large and small. In the continued collaboration, we also see significant opportunities where the collective experience of our members can contribute to the development of telecom services for the public sector", says Blagoje Dimovski, Procurement Lead at Skånes Kommuner.
