DNA Business team gave a strong showing at Capacity Europe
Capacity was the talk of the town at Capacity Europe in Paris, France – and DNA Business was very active at the two-and-a-half day event in November. Juho Hyvärinen, Sales Director for DNA Wholesale, and three sales managers had a very hectic time in Paris, but the vibe throughout the event was a very good one.
“We managed to have 30 customer meetings in Paris, meeting both existing clients and prospective ones,” Hyvärinen reveals.
The Sales Director was quite pleased with the finding that DNA’s name recognition was on a very good level at the event: industry players near and far already know the reputation of the Finnish company and are familiar with the high level of service that they provide.
“Industry people know us rather well and are aware of what we can do. Our service portfolio is extensive enough that we can cater to the needs of foreign operators and meet their demands,” Hyvärinen says, adding that the same goes for the future needs of the customers as well – DNA is committed to constant development on all areas.
Going for 100!
One hot topic at the event was 100G DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing). Hyvärinen points out that DWDM in itself is nothing new, but putting 100 G’s out there is: not so long ago, capacities in the neighborhood of 10G were much more common.
“We have our own 100G network which is available throughout Finland and also in Stockholm,” Hyvärinen says, pointing out that, for instance, the rise of cloud services means business for such companies as DNA.
“We can provide secure capacity and reliable connections,” he sums up.
Quality Comes First
Looking at the capacity industry and the activities of various operators, Hyvärinen comments that the DNA service portfolio in wholesale services is quite standardized and runs under – for the most part – the same specifications, but there are ways to make a difference – and go that extra mile for the customer.
“For us, it’s all about the speed of delivery and quality of the entire package – as well as solid maintenance.”
And then there is the top sales team which has now been making the rounds at the international capacity events for quite some time. Previously this year, Hyvärinen and his crew hit Chicago in May and Moscow in September – but on the Old Continent, Capacity Europe (which has relocated from Amsterdam to Paris this year) is simply the place to be.
“We are building our connections globally, relying especially on face-to-face meetings since this business is very much about trust. You need to know who you’re dealing with and what they stand for.”
Born to Run
In Paris, DNA representatives met companies from all around Europe – with genuine powerhouses such as China Telecom in the mix – and also industry players from further east, from Russia and China, too.
The DNA team is used to putting up 110 % effort at the industry events, but this time, Hyvärinen felt that the group really hit a home run:
“Working 16 hours per day and networking like crazy, the team was really in fine form,” Hyvärinen credits his crew.
