DNA and Jolla are to cooperate in the sales and marketing of their smartphones using a Sailfish-based operating system.
Helsinki, Finland - DNA and Jolla reveal a cooperation agreement specifying that DNA Store and other DNA sales channels will sell and market Jolla smartphones in Finland as soon as they enter the market. The upcoming Jolla smartphones use an open Sailfish operating system which is based on the well-known MeeGo operating system. The companies are not revealing the value of the agreement.
- We target to have a network of partners around Sailfish during the coming year. We are partnering up with operators, for example, to benefit from their solid knowhow in retail and distribution. As a forerunner brand in Finland, DNA is a great partner for Jolla. DNA also has a strong retail stores chain, which ensures the availability of the upcoming Jolla smartphone and other future devices, says Sami Pienimäki, Vice President, Sales of Jolla Ltd.
